Judy is a retired Talented & Gifted teacher in the Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, Texas. Since 1966, she has acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education. Her hobbies are reading, working in the yard, walking, and being outside.

Judy enjoys musicals, attending The Vocal Majority performances, traveling, and watching many programs on PBS, the Hallmark and History channel. She is a member of the Dallas Museum of Art, Texas Retired Teachers Association, Dallas ISD TAG Educators Alumni, KERA, North Texas Book Festival and Texas Association of Authors. Judy’s first book, The Little White Light, received Honorable Mention in the 2015 North Texas Book Festival category Children’s Books Ages 1-6, and Honorable Mention in the 2017 New England Book Festival. Her second book, MJ’s New Friend, received Second Place in the category Children’s Books Ages 6-12. Judy’s third book, An Almost Very Scary Day, was published in November of 2015 and was a 2016 Book Excellence Award finalist. Both The The Little White Light and An Almost Very Scary Day received the 5-star Seal from Readers Favorite. The hardcover, Spanish edition of The Little White Light, titled La pequeña luz blanca, was published in July 2017. The Spanish edition of MJ’s New Friend, titled El nuevo amigo de MJ, was published in September 2018.

Publications and Awards
