Julie is the author of Putting Lipstick on a Pig which is the first book in the series, Ivy’s Idioms. She is originally from Minneapolis, MN and a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and now resides in Houston, TX. Her love of the English language and its nuances lead her to research the origins and uses of idioms. During the course of this research she learned that idioms are one of the harder aspects of non-native English speakers, individuals who are neurodivergent and children to understand. The series aims to teach idioms in a fun and easy format.

When not writing and researching her books, Julie enjoys time at her ranch with her husband Rob, and their dog Ivy, whom the series was named after.
